*Slowness in carrying out tasks.
*Difficulty following directions.
*Difficulty maintaining concentration on a given task.
*Too little attention to detail, or excessive attention to detail.
*Weak social relationships.
*Disorganisation.
Treating learning difficulties in children:
Special education:
Special education is one of the leading ways of treating learning difficulties in children. The teacher or specialist helps the child learn skills by building on his abilities and finding ways to compensate for his weaknesses. Special education teachers also make changes to the classroom and use techniques that support the child. Some children receive help from speech and language therapists. A child may also need psychological support because of low self-confidence, frustration and other problems, and so requires counselling to help him understand these problems, develop ways of overcoming them and build healthy relationships.
