My beloved, mother of the world
You embraced Joseph, his father and his brothers after him.
And you have always been the tender mother to everyone who sheltered in your shade
You never failed them.. and you never ignored them.
And your ancient, kindly people have written history across the ages in letters of gold.
Despite yesterday's hardships in travelling to attend President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's initiative
and all the stumbles and delays the journey involved..
I and the Foundation's team were determined to #carry_out the task in full
and our persistence was greater still, even though some tried to dissuade us from continuing and openly told us to turn back
We were determined.. we persevered.. and we arrived..
and we left the Egyptian Foundation for Development and Quality
with a mark and a presence at this celebration
It was an enjoyable and varied journey, for all the effort and determination it took
I am proud to be Egyptian.. Syrian
and I will obtain Egyptian citizenship soon
