I was training in comprehensive assessment, after many sessions as a trainee at the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and I observed Dr Ahlam El-Baz from a distance, hearing of her seriousness, her learning and her refinement all at once …I heard these words from the giant of quality and its founder, my teacher Professor Magdy Qasem …And when Professor Safaa Abdel Aziz speaks of El-Baz, it is as though the sky were speaking of the sky …stars speaking to one another, showing us how she gave light, how she sensed the darkness and searched for a way to illuminate it and spread knowledge
They are the giants, and El-Baz is one of them; she took her place at the summit of scholarship and quality. She contributed every new idea and worked to correct mistaken concepts, adopting a new vision that raced ahead of its time, and she wrote a great deal. It is enough that her name stands among the giants without titles: Gaber Abdel Hamid – Magdy Qasem – Reda Hegazy …
She taught us, and we learned, in the sanctuary of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. She led sessions with the judgement of a scholar and an innovator …her horizon was wide, and she shared our concerns and our troubles …We left the Authority, but she never left us. I recall being at the Professional Academy for Teachers and meeting her, as though the sun had risen at night …I needed the warmth of that greeting and the music of that voice

My pen falls short, as the world of knowledge falls short, of setting down the features of the knowledge your hand has crowned, when I read through the learning outcomes …from El-Baz's works with my teacher Dr Magdy Qasem …I say Egypt is in good hands …The book meets me in the resource centre and everyone praises it, and as we talk we call for many workshops on this book …It is a treasure, and the owner of a treasure can contribute and offer a great deal, and can lead discussion groups …So why do we wait, when we have the giants among us

She left her mark on every committee she joined, every document she drafted, and every mind she taught that education is not merely a system but a life managed by standards drawn from conscience and an enlightened mind. and helped develop the academic and educational accreditation standards that are today a model followed in Egypt's schools and universities.
