The Egyptian Foundation for Development and Quality held
a festival on learning difficulties and Irlen Syndrome.
Learning difficulties have become a pressing issue; they have increased sharply and affect gifted children and slow learners alike
Irlen Syndrome is one of the newer subjects that enrich the Arabic literature and help make learning enjoyable
Taking part in the meeting:
Guest of honour: Prof. Abdel Wahab Kamel, emeritus professor of psychology
and Dr Manal Gomaa, director of the Atkallam (I Speak) centre and a certified Irlen screener from the Irlen Institute in the United States
The meeting was chaired by the journalist Mr Walid Gaafar
The meeting was enriched by the distinguished presence of Prof. Mohamed Labib Salem, supervisor of the Delta Region Research and Development Centre
and by Dr Tarek Rizk, deputy supervisor of the Centre, Dr Yasser Mansour, secretary of the Delta Research and Development Centre, and colleagues working on Delta region development projects
The meeting was also honoured by the presence of Dr Abdallah Hanna, Major-General Khaled and a number of people active in education and development work
The meeting covered the following themes:

Everyone was captivated by the gifted child Ahmed Alaa El-Din Habsa, who recited the Holy Quran and delighted the audience with beautiful devotional chants
