Quality in Educational Institutions

” What is not planned is not monitored; what is not monitored is not implemented; what is not implemented is not measured; and from what is not measured expect neither development nor quality”

From the words of Dr Reda Hegazy, encouraging those who work in education quality and accreditation

When we monitor a school we review its beliefs, its assumptions and its performance at the same time. The act on its own does not concern me …if the act is not deliberate then it is empty talk; behind the act there must be a theory, a conviction and a clear method, an organised approach that is actually followed, and

What is not planned is not monitored; what is not monitored is not implemented; what is not implemented is not measured; and from what is not measured expect neither development nor quality

Plans ” documents ”

Monitoring performance …what do we monitor

Classifying needs (every member of staff has requested training) and in monitoring we must show the following: the depth of the description …recognising the relationships between practices (inputs, processes and outputs) and we must recognise the relationships between practices. Staff performance is strong, and this is because the training unit did such and such, or because the member of staff received such and such training at the various training centres (there must be a file for each member of staff from which we can see the training courses and workshops …an achievement record)

Dr Reda Hegazy, in his words:
«What is not planned is not monitored; what is not monitored is not implemented; what is not implemented is not measured; and from what is not measured neither development nor quality can be expected»,
we all recognise that quality in education is not a slogan to be raised, but the product of an integrated system that begins with sound planning, continues with serious monitoring, is translated into effective implementation, and is then evaluated by accurate measurement that opens the way to continuous improvement.
